How it works:
STEP 1
First we get together on the phone or a zoom call and discuss the scope of your song or project. We get into details like the time and length this will take, budget and execution. What do you want this to even sound like? Are you a solo artist or a rock band?? These would be two very different approaches obviously, and we will find out where you fit, and also if we vibe well. After all you might not like my dog or something. Once all that is sorted we move on to step 2, if we are doing production or step 3 if I am just mixing.
STEP 2
Record Production - When we plan for a full production, I like to find the perfect place with the right vibe to record in. My place just might be perfect for us but I look for some things that are important to me that you might not even think about, like the lighting or the headphone system. My place might be it, or we might want to travel to a place that has everything we all want. Or maybe everyone is everywhere and we have to do it all from a distance. Together I know we can accomplish your vision through tried and true processes that seem to work out perfect. Then onto the editing and tuning phase. This is a specific cleaning up of the tracks that takes place to prep them for the mix.
STEP 3
Mixing - I get the tracks and ask about any reference mixes you could tell me that were in your mind while creating it. This is especially helpful if I wasn't involved in the tracking process. I will take a first pass mix and get us in the ballpark, then through Audio Movers and a Zoom call we can get together and tweak the mix in real time. If that doesn't work because of time zones then we can go the way of mix revisions. I have a service I use for hi res files that you can playback from any internet spot. I try not to limit these, after all I want you to be stoked.
STEP 4
What You Get - Once you are completely ecstatic about the mix I will deliver the following:
-The stereo mix
- A "mix minus" (all the mix elements except the lead vocal)
- An instrumental mix - great for reels and sync.
- An a cappella mix - perfect for remixes.
- All the stems for backing tracks, sync opportunities, and remixes.
